The film concerns a former car thief, known as "Memphis" (Cage), who is forced to return to his former trade and steal fifty cars in one night for a crime boss who is threatening to kill his brother, played by Ribisi. It also stars Jolie as "Sway", Duvall as Otto, Eccleston as Raymond Vincent Calitri and the former soccer player Jones as "Sphinx". Lindo plays Detective Roland Castlebeck who seeks out a flaw in Memphis' plans in a 2000 BMW 540i.
Calitri gives Raines a list of 50 cars that he wants delivered before time runs out. There are two slightly differing lists of cars, one from the informational booklet that came with the DVD, and one that's sourced from within the movie itself, both are listed below. The most common discrepancy is different model years, however there are two vehicles which are unique to their respective lists.
Though the movie earned a $242 million worldwide box-office gross, after overhead, it lost roughly $90 million after all expenses, including the $103.3 million it cost to make the movie, were taken into account over the next four years as of 2003.(External Link)Further Information
